ESL EDUCATIONAL GAMES - The Phonics Word Game

This ESL educational game is called, "The Phonics Game."

This esl game is very quick to learn as well as the esl students enjoy it very much.

First - You may need to make a massive grid for the whiteboard. At the top on the grid you may write the numbers one - ten; and draw up and down lines between the numbers.

Two - You are going to have to create the letters A - J around the far left side.

Now the pupils will very easily be able to select any box from the grid. IE. 4a / 7A / 9D, etc., and so on.

Before class time (during your planning period), you should draw that identical grid upon a new sheet of paper. In every single box you are going to draw a number from one - ten.

On the class blackboard you'll now draw in each and every box with a Phonics word from the student's Phonics book; this game can also always be played using some other book.

Now... split up the students into teams. I normally split up my class into four teams, but you'll be able to seperate them into nevertheless a lot of teams as you like. And provide every group a Group name. You are able to let the ESL student's pick or you are able to just compose, "Group one," "Group 2," "Group 3," "Team four."

The ESL students can play, "Paper, Scissors, Stone!" to see who goes 1st, second, third and last.

After all of the above is taken care of... you are able to start playing the esl speaking game.

In the team which gets to go primary... a single ESL student may fully stand up making up a sentence applying one from the words in the grid. If he/she makes up a sentence and says it utilizing proper grammar ~ the teacher will erase the word, look on his/her piece of paper, see how a lot of points are in that box and give that student's group that numerous points.

Keep playing this esl teaching game until all from the words have been utilized.

The team with the highest amount of points at the end from the esl learning game are the winners!
